The Ted Baker brand was created in 1988 when Raymond Stuart Kelvin opened up his first clothing store in Glasgow. The original store sold only men’s shirts, offered free dry cleaning, and relied solely on word of mouth. Within 5 years, Kelvin had opened up stores in major cities and added a women’s clothing line as well. Because the brand is young, the history of Ted Baker is still in the making.
