M by Missoni

Ottavio (Tai) Missoni began his fashion career after he returned from WWII. Along with a friend he began making wool track suits that were eventually worn by the Italian Olympians of 1948.  Shortly after he met his wife, Rosita, and they created the Missoni brand that we know today. After a brief bra-less scandal in an Italian fashion show, the couple moved to a new factory and soon caught the eye of Diana Vreeland, the editor of Vogue magazine. The rest is history.
